Community Education

One of the main roles of Byron Bird Buddies is to provide community education on the relationship between the various Cape Byron Marine Park coastal environments and the shorebirds and waterbirds which inhabit these places.

The other role is to promote to the community at large the conservation measures which are in place to ensure the ongoing survival of the shorebirds and waterbirds and maximise the breeding potential of the various species in our area.

Byron Bird Buddies has developed a range of presentations for various audiences and conducts community education programs in schools, TAFE and community colleges as well as participating in activities designed to raise awareness of the various environments in this area and to give the community a general introduction to identifying the birds which make our shores and waterways their home.
