Bird Observation Reports
The Byron Bird Buddies records the number and types of birds visiting the Belongil Estuary during the breeding season (from July to March each year). The information gathered includes the location of breeding areas, number of dogs, human behaviour in relation to fences and signage and enables Byron Bird Buddies to target its conservation and education work toward the most successful outcomes for the birds. This information is also useful for other organisations such as National Parks, Marine Parks and Byron Shire Council.

Jan Olley has been observing and recording the birds of the Belongil Estuary in Byron Bay for over two years (2004-2007). Attached are pdf's of her observations during that period and comprehensive spreadsheets of bird sightings, numbers and feeding patterns.
